<p><em>Ulex europaeus</em> agglutinin I binds to many glycoproteins and glycolipids containing α-linked fucose residues, such as ABO blood group glycoconjugates. This lectin preferentially binds blood group O cells and has been used to determine secretor status. It has been established as an excellent marker for human endothelial cells.</p>
<p>DyLight 594 labeled <em>Ulex europaeus</em> agglutinin I has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin. This conjugate is supplied essentially free of unconjugated fluorochromes.</p>

				        <h3>Technical Information</h3><div class="product attribute description"><p>Vector Laboratories fluorochrome-conjugated streptavidin and avidin reagents are highly purified and possess very low non-specific binding properties. They have extremely high affinity for biotin. These fluorescent conjugates can be used to detect biotinylated secondary antibodies and other macromolecules in applications such as immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, or flow cytometry.</p><p>Amplification of fluorescent signals can be easily achieved with our biotinylated secondary antibodies followed by our highly purified fluorochrome-labeled streptavidin or avidin. Using a biotin/avidin or biotin/streptavidin detection system results in an additional layer of amplification over a directly conjugated secondary antibody.</p><p>DyLight dyes offer several advantages including greater photostability, pH independence, and brighter fluorescence. We offer DyLight conjugated streptavidin for use in a variety of applications, in particular, cell- and tissue-based immunofluorescent detection. <p>GSL I-B<sub>4</sub> isolectin contains only the B subunits. It is a useful marker for endothelial cells from nonprimates such as mouse, rat, rabbit, and goat as well as a marker for non-peptidergic unmyelinated primary afferent neurons.  This “B”-rich lectin preferentially agglutinates blood group B cells and is specific for α-galactose residues.</p>
<p>DyLight<sup>™</sup> 594 GSL I-B<sub>4</sub> isolectin is produced by using special conjugation procedures to incorporate DyLight<sup>™</sup> 594 into our affinity-purified lectin. This conjugate has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound which provide the maximum fluorescence and optimum staining characteristics for this particular lectin. This reagent is supplied essentially free of unconjugated fluorochromes and inactive lectin.</p>

				        <h3>Technical Information</h3><p>GSL I is a family of glycoproteins with molecular weights of approximately 114 kDa. There are two types of subunits, termed A and B, with slightly different molecular weights. These subunits combine to form tetrameric structures, resulting in five isolectins. The A -rich lectin preferentially agglutinates blood group A erythrocytes and thus appears to be specific for α-<em>N</em>-acetylgalactosamine residues, while the B -rich lectin preferentially agglutinates blood group B cells and is specific for α-galactose residues. Our GSL I is a mixture of the five isolectins. GSL I has been reported to bind several glycoproteins including laminin.</p><p>Accompanying each fluorescent lectin is an analysis data sheet summarizing the results of our quality control tests and providing pertinent information on the product. 				        <h3>Technical Information</h3><p>Tomato lectin is a very stable single subunit glycoprotein containing about 50 percent arabinose and galactose and may form multimeric aggregates in solution. Tomato lectin, although sharing some specificities with potato lectin, Datura lectin, and wheat germ agglutinin, has been reported to be dissimilar in many respects. LEL binds well to glycophorin and Tamm-Horsfall glycoprotein and has been used effectively to label vascular endothelium in rodents.</p><p>Texas Red<sup>®</sup> or DyLight<sup>®</sup> 594 conjugated tomato lectin provides an excellent contrast to green/yellow fluorescence such as GFP expressed in transgenic animals, or with fluorescein conjugates in standard double label studies. The tomato lectin complements our existing range of lectin reagents and should be a valuable tool in examining rodent tumor angiogenesis, tracing neovascular development in xenograft models and brain research.</p><p>Accompanying each fluorescent lectin is an analysis data sheet summarizing the results of our quality control tests and providing pertinent information on the product. 				        <h3>Technical Information</h3><div class="product attribute description"><div class="value"><div class="product-description-paragraph"><p>The anti-mouse Ig antibodies are prepared by hyperimmunizing animals in a manner that produces high affinity antibodies. These are then purified by an affinity chromatography procedure designed to remove any low affinity antibodies which may be present. Cross-reactivities that are likely to interfere with specific labeling are removed by solid-phase adsorption techniques. The final product is then subjected to rigorous quality control assays including immunodiffusion, solid-phase enzyme immunoassays, gel electrophoresis and solid-phase binding assays. In preparing the labeled antibodies, great care is taken to ensure the maximum degree of labeling with no alteration in the specificity and affinity of the antibody. The labeled antibody then undergoes a further series of quality control assays, including immunohistochemical analysis. Unless otherwise specified, our antibodies will recognize both heavy and light chains (H+L).</p><p>DyLight<sup>™</sup> fluorescent dyes are direct alternatives to traditional fluorophores such as fluorescein (FITC) and rhodamine. The excitation and emission spectra parallel that of other commercially available fluorescent reagents allowing for easy substitution into an existing protocol without requiring any further instrumentation or filter sets.  </p><p>DyLight<sup>™</sup> dyes offer a number of potential advantages including greater photostability and brighter fluorescence.  DyLight<sup>™</sup> dyes are completely stable over a pH range of 4-9 making them compatible with many aqueous-based buffers and diluents. 				        <h3>Technical Information</h3><div class="product attribute description"><div class="value"><div class="product-description-paragraph"><p>The horse anti-goat Ig antibodies are prepared by hyperimmunizing animals in a manner that produces high affinity antibodies. These are then purified by an affinity chromatography procedure designed to remove any low affinity antibodies which may be present. Cross-reactivities that are likely to interfere with specific labeling are removed by solid-phase adsorption techniques. The final product is then subjected to rigorous quality control assays including immunodiffusion, solid-phase enzyme immunoassays, gel electrophoresis and solid-phase binding assays. In preparing the labeled antibodies, great care is taken to ensure the maximum degree of labeling with no alteration in the specificity and affinity of the antibody. The labeled antibody then undergoes a further series of quality control assays, including immunohistochemical analysis. </p><p>This antibody is suitable for use with goat, sheep, and bovine IgG primary antibodies.</p><p>DyLight<sup>™</sup> fluorescent dyes are direct alternatives to traditional fluorophores such as fluorescein (FITC) and rhodamine. The excitation and emission spectra parallel that of other commercially available fluorescent reagents allowing for easy substitution into an existing protocol without requiring any further instrumentation or filter sets.  </p><p>DyLight<sup>™</sup> dyes offer a number of potential advantages including greater photostability and brighter fluorescence.  DyLight<sup>™</sup> dyes are completely stable over a pH range of 4-9 making them compatible with many aqueous-based buffers and diluents.
