m-dPEG®48-amine, product number QBD-10918, is a non-immunogenic, water-soluble chemical modification reagent. The product contains a single molecular weight, discrete-length polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain terminated on one end with a methyl group and on the other end with a reactive primary amine. The linker length is 146 atoms (173.1 Å). The amino group reacts with carboxylic acids (and their active esters), aldehydes, and ketones. Reacting the amino group with aldehydes or ketones forms a labile imine (Schiff base) that can be reduced to a secondary amine under mild conditions to provide greater stability to the conjugate. Reacting carboxylic acids or their active esters with m-dPEG®48-amine forms stable amide bonds. Uses for this product include passivating surfaces and coating biomolecules.

Biomolecules modified with m-dPEG®48-amine display enhanced water solubility, increased hydrodynamic volume, and reduced immunogenicity. This product reacts quickly with active esters of carboxylic acids (for example, NHS esters and TFP esters) to form amide bonds. Also, it forms amide bonds directly with carboxylic acids using the carbodiimide EDC.

m-dPEG®48-amine has been cited in the scientific literature and is potentially useful in numerous applications. Such applications include the following:
Passivating nanoparticle surfaces, including the surfaces of carbon nanotubes and graphene oxide;
Creating a non-immunogenic "stealth" coating for liposomes and micelles;
Increasing the hydrodynamic volume of small molecules, including peptides and antibody fragments; and,
Increasing the water solubility of hydrophobic molecules.

Description

m-dPEG®36-amine, product number QBD-10908, is a non-immunogenic, water-soluble chemical modification reagent. The product contains a single molecular weight, discrete-length polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain terminated on one end with a methyl group and on the other end with a reactive primary amine. The linker length is 109 atoms (130.0 Å). The amino group reacts with carboxylic acids (and their active esters), aldehydes, and ketones. Reacting the amino group with aldehydes or ketones forms a labile imine (Schiff base) that can be reduced to a secondary amine under mild conditions to provide greater stability to the conjugate. Reacting carboxylic acids or their active esters with m-dPEG®36-amine forms stable amide bonds. Uses for this product include passivating surfaces and coating biomolecules.

Biomolecules modified with m-dPEG®36-amine display enhanced water solubility, increased hydrodynamic volume, and reduced immunogenicity. This product reacts quickly with active esters of carboxylic acids (for example, NHS esters and TFP esters) to form amide bonds.

m-dPEG®15-amine, product number QBD-10298, is a non-immunogenic, water-soluble chemical modification reagent. The product contains a monodisperse, single molecular weight, discrete-length polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain terminated on one end with a methyl group and the other end with an amine. The amino group reacts with carboxylic acids (and their active esters) to form amide bonds. Reactions with aldehydes or ketones form a labile imine known as a Schiff base, which can be reduced to form a secondary amine. Direct conjugation of carboxylic acids and m-dPEG®15-amine require a carbodiimide such as EDC. Uses for this product include passivating surfaces, coating biomolecules, and building dendrimers and other supramolecular constructs.

m-dPEG®12-amine, product number QBD-10288, is a non-immunogenic, water-soluble chemical modification reagent. The product contains a single molecular weight, discrete-length polyethylene glycol (dPEG®) chain terminated on one end with a methyl group and on the other end with a reactive primary amine. The amino group reacts with carboxylic acids (and their active esters), aldehydes, and ketones. Reacting the amino group with aldehydes or ketones forms a labile imine (Schiff base). Reacting carboxylic acids or their active esters with m-dPEG®12-amine forms stable amide bonds. Uses for this product include passivating surfaces and coating biomolecules.

Biomolecules modified with m-dPEG®12-amine display enhanced water solubility, increased hydrodynamic volume, and reduced immunogenicity. This product reacts quickly with active esters of carboxylic acids (for example, NHS esters and TFP esters) to form amide bonds. Also, it forms amide bonds directly with carboxylic acids using the carbodiimide EDC.

Several publications in the scientific literature report the successful use of m-dPEG®12-amine. Published reports using this product include:
cancer imaging with a NIR-fluorescent peptosome;
multimodal imaging and targeted gene silencing;
noncompetitive on-chip immunoassays;
antibody pretargeting; and,
the development of biocompatible quantum dots.

m-dPEG®8-amine, product number QBD-10278, is a methyl-terminated PEG amine compound. The PEG is a water-soluble, single molecular weight PEG product with a discrete chain length (dPEG®). Carboxylic acids and their active esters react with the amino terminus to form amide bonds. Furthermore, the amino terminus reacts with aldehydes and ketones, forming reducible Schiff bonds. Uses for m-dPEG®8-amine include modification of acid-functionalized surfaces and free carboxylic acid groups on biomolecules.

In published scientific literature, the following applications have utilized m-dPEG®8-amine:
Development of probes for continuous real-time modification of renal function;
Surface functionalization of magnetic iron nanoparticles;
PEGylation of PAMAM dendrimers to modify cytotoxicity and transfection efficiency; and,
Surface coating of carbon nanotubes used for thermally controllable extraction and separation of peptides.

A methyl group terminates one end of the molecule. The reactive terminus opposite the methyl group is a primary amine. This product reacts with carboxylic acids and their active esters to form amide bonds.
