NHS-S-S-dPEG®4-biotin, product number QBD-10194, combines biotin with the highly useful properties of single molecular weight discrete polyethylene glycol (dPEG®), a cleavable disulfide linker, and the amine-reactive functionality of N-hydroxysuccinimidyl (NHS) ester. The cleavage point for the molecule is well away from the binding pocket for avidin and streptavidin to allow easy optimization of cleavage conditions. NHS-S-S-dPEG®4-biotin has numerous applications, including
antibody-antigen purification,
isolating antibody inhibitors,
generating synthetic antibodies,
determining how cells sense voltage changes,
developing a noncompetitive immunocomplex immunoassay, and
developing a process to identify GTPase inhibitors through quenching resonance energy transfer (QRET).

This will be less noticeable with liquids, but the solids will become tacky and difficult to manipulate, if care is not taken to minimize air exposure.
